BMC Helix Container Deployment Service

This Service installs the BMC Helix Common Services Platform* and BMC Helix application into a container management platform previously set up in the Customer’s data center and prepares the platform for application configuration. This Service will install, but not configure BMC Helix applications or data.

What you get:

BMC will perform the following in one environment:

  • Conduct a workshop to review customer’s infrastructure and sizing requirements as documented from the required pre-requisite service, BMC Helix OnPrem Advisory Service
  • Validate the BMC software required for deploying customer-facing applications into the containerized environment
  • Validate Customer’s environment meets all pre-requisites
  • Install BMC Helix Common Services Platform and Helix in-scope applications on Customer’s Container Management Platform*
  • Prepare Construction Document
  • Validate installation of the BMC Helix applications

Customer will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring the right-level of access is provided to BMC resources to perform the deployment on Customer’s Container Management Platform 
  • Ensuring the required BMC software is made available within the designated environment via the Customers' local repository or BMC Docker Trusted Registry (DTR)
  • Ensuring that the latest version of the Health Check Tool (HCT) completes successfully and validates the Customer environment

Deliverables: Using BMC’s standard methodology and templates, the following Deliverables are in scope for this project and will be delivered:

  • Construction Document

Completion Criteria: BMC will have completed these Consulting Services when the in-scope Consulting Services have been completed and the Deliverables have been delivered to the Customer Project Manager.

Definitions:

  • BMC Helix Common Services Platform – These are the common services required for all BMC Helix Applications. (i.e., Helix Portal, Helix SSO, etc.)
  • Container Management Platform – Facilitates the organization and virtualization of software containers using tools like Kubernetes, Docker, etc.
  • Country-Specific Staffing: Upon Customer’s request and BMC resource availability, BMC will deviate from BMC’s Standard Delivery model. BMC will work with Customer to understand and address their country-specific staffing requirements. The staffing choice from which country a BMC resource comes from will be mutually agreed to by BMC and Customer.
  • Standard Delivery: A mix of BMC consultants and project managers sourced from various BMC locations.
  • Air-gapped Delivery: Requires vetted consultants and offline deployment server builds which require manual interventions to bypass open internet requirements. Customer acknowledges air-gapped delivery will still require responsibility for ensuring the required BMC software is made available within the environment.
